Beaufort County Department of Social Services Earns Human Services Technology Award

We are excited to congratulate our customer, Beaufort County Department of Social Services (DSS), on earning an award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). Beaufort County DSS received NACo’s Achievement Award in the information technology category, which recognizes an innovation program that modernizes county government and increases services to county residents. The award was presented during NACo’s annual summer conference in Forth Worth, Texas on July 21.

With Northwoods help, Beaufort County DSS has converted to a paperless system, freeing up space previously storing hard files. Additionally, 25 social workers use Northwoods mobile productivity solution on a tablet, allowing them to access all case and client information, forms, documents, and appointment information during home visits, just as they would in the office. While on site, workers can use the tablet software to record interviews, take photos, complete forms, and notate their findings.

We design our software to allow workers to spend more time on the families they serve, which is why we’re proud to partner with the social workers at Beaufort County DSS in their mission to protect children and strengthen families.
